This 70,000 SF project serves as a cooking, packing and warehousing facility for two product lines offered by Herr Foods, Inc. As the GC on this project, we ensured that there was constant coordination between architect, engineers and owner, which was critical to assure that manufacturing equipment, building systems, structural frame and occupant use meshed, and that no significant problems would delay the opening of the facility. Specific features include “walk-on” ceilings, enabling the maintenance staff access to building systems, conventional spread footings, a low-slope roof including a fully-adhered EPDM roof system, exterior walls that are built from metal siding and interior walls built from a combination of CMU and metal studs and drywall. The design incorporated the possibility of future expansion of the building on two sides, quadrupling the area of the building.
